Meet Otis, king of the fatheads

This is Otis. His head is either too big for his ears, or his ears are too little for his head.
He doesn't seem to notice either way.

His STATS are as follows
DOB: sometime in 2002
Weight: 63 lbs (mostly located in the head)
Height: 20 inches
Length: 30 inches (not including his cutsey tail)
Attire: White socks
Tattoos: Paw print on the back of his neck
Orientation: Bi-Curious
Bio:

Otis was surrendered by his owner to the Liberty Humane Society in Jersey City www.libertyhumane.org.

His owner claimed he was moving and could no longer care for his two dogs. perhaps the guy ha d a change of heart, or maybe there was a breeding opportunity that came along, but after surrendering the dogs to the shelter, he returned asking for them back. When the shelter informed him that Otis would have to be neutered, the owner said he didn't want him anymore.
After a few weeks in the shelter, Otis was allowed to hang in the front office with the staff while they did their paper work. He was getting stressed out in the kennel, and he was really calm around the staff.
When Jay and I walked into the office to look at the dogs, we were greeted with his large head placed in my lap and a wagging tail. We signed the paper work that day and picked him up a few days later. He still had a huge set on him when he met our other dog Buka, but despite the testosterone, they got along swimmingly.
The day we took Otis home, he was post-op...no longer the stud of his early years. He seemed calm, a little sluggish from the drugs, but easy going enough. We walked around Jersey City for a mile r so, to let him smell the neighborhood, then went home only to discover his stitches were bleeding.
One animal hospital visit and $357  later Otis returned home to our apartment. I had to ice his balls. So did Jay. It was a little weird because we didn't really know Otis that well yet. His "stuff" was so big that the people at the animal hospital said most vets wouldn't have neutered him. I still don't really know how i feel about that. Oddly proud? How bad did it hurt him? Did it effect his self esteem?
I am happy he is neutered though, although i feel for the guy at having to go through it when he was so developed. I think if he had a choice in the matter, he would have done it. He came into our lives with some serious baggage and scars. His entire muzzle is scarred from being bound, he had scars on his body near his ankles and on his back from god knows what, and he flinched anytime your voice raised or if you lifted up an arm. You can't reach for things on the top shelf without him looking a little wary. I cried the first time he got yelled at for knocking over the garbage. Jay was yelling at the dogs and Buka (who could care less about being yelled at) was sort of smiling and ignoring Jay, but Otis started shaking, expecting to get the snot kicked out of him. It was truly the worst.
Despite whatever happened to him, he is a peach. He needs to be watched when meeting new dogs and around food, but thats something that should always be kept in mind with all dogs. He lives with his 3 year old sister Buka and (while we wait for our place to be done) his three cousins Ziggy Livvy and Wheezy.

So, Otis likes to sleep. He likes sleeping on furniture. He is a bit of a snob in the respect. He loves pillows, soft blankets, laps, getting his large neck scratched and eating. He is very concerned about his hygiene and loves being washed, cleaned, brushed and picked over.

His hobbies include sleeping, having terrible gas, fishing (which is his favorite, but he sucks at it), chasing squirrels, and escaping (but only to be near his people or the little girls that have tea parties across the street)

He cannot swim on account of his large heavy head, and he has sensitive skin. He needs to wear sunblock in the summer to prevent sunburn from his scars on his nose.

And thats Otis.
